I photographed five weddings in the Netherlands between 2017 and 2019, three of them in Amsterdam. It’s a city that works beautifully for weddings — the canals, the light, the architecture, the way everything feels both grand and intimate at the same time. Beyond Amsterdam I’ve also worked in Den Haag and in Cothen, a quiet village in the Utrecht countryside that offered something completely different.

The Netherlands has a directness and warmth that I really connect with as a photographer. People celebrate genuinely, without pretension, and that makes for honest and beautiful pictures.
